I read the books with Gigi this summer, and to be honest they did not live up to the hype in my opinion. Fun, easy reads but I was not a fan of the characters and I thought the whole thing was entirely too sappy for my taste. And I still think Bella kind of sucks.
This is all beside the point. I saw the movie last night at the midnight showing with Gigi, and I have to urge you all to go and see it. If you hate the story, or don't care, take your ipod and listen to something else, but you must witness the unbelievable sexiness that is Robert Pattinson in this role.
Holy. Shit.
In the stills, I thought he was OK, but nothing major. During the film I found myself behaving like a 15 year old girl who just discovered hormones.
Again-Holy. Shit. I would have gone home and taken a cold shower if it hadn't been 3 in the morning.
Go see it!

Agreed that Bella rather sucks. I didn't enjoy the mopey, whiney business. The heartbreak I could relate to, but everything else she did? Ugh. Just choose a boy already.
Anyway, I'm going tonight at 9:20. I don't know much about the guy playing Edward (other than it's not what I expected) but I'm curious.
Oh, and your Christmas present for Lawyer? Absolutely perfect. TDH just uses all my stuff (he admitted to using my deodorant on more than one occasion. Kind of funny. And gross, I guess).

I liked the movie...not as much as the books, but still fun.
